How to be a History Detective

The ‘How to Be a History Detective’ course has been designed with Family Learning in mind. The ethos is to challenge adults and their families to become local history detectives using fun activities to spark their interest and motivate them into finding out about their local environment.  This involves producing a local project together, using a blended learning approach to technology and web resources.

Boat Trail

This course is based on the East Cowes and West Cowes local heritage trail published by the Island2000 Trust.  The trail focuses on the industrial heritage of this area of the Island and is called the 'Boat Trail'.  Two family friendly guide books have been developed to accompany the official boat trail and are aimed at families with children at Key Stage 1 (age 5-7) and Key Stage 2 (age 7-11).  Find out how to make a rope out of kitchen roll!
