Effective information and communications technology (ICT) is a fundamental requirement of organisations as complex as the council and will become even more important in the future as the authority properly embraces the concepts of e-government and electronic service delivery as a fundamental part of the push to improve services provided by local government.
The e-government agenda sounds as though it is about new technologies but in fact the primary goal is to improve the quality, availability and accessibility of public services utilising ICT as a tool to deliver this.
ICT is involved in this project through DIP, web design etc.
