Technology to Enhance Adult Community Learning (TrEACL) was a funding steam managed by the National Institute for Adults Continuing Education (NIACE) which gave grants to projects which demonstrated an innovative use of information and communications technology to support learning within organisations delivering Adult and Community Learning. This is Known as E-learning or Information Learning Technology (ILT).
The Isle of Wight Council was successful in bidding during TrEACL round 2 for a project which promotes and develops the use of E-learning with adult learners and tutors involved with our Family Learning programme.
The funding was distributed by NIACE who are a partner in the National Learning Network (NLN). The NLN is a national partnership programme designed to increase the uptake of Information Learning Technology across the learning and skills sector in England. Supported by the Learning and Skills Council and other sector bodies, the NLN achieves this by providing network infrastructure and a wide-ranging programme of support, information and training, as well as the development and provision of ILT materials for teaching and learning.
